A Study on the Experimental Infection of the Guinea pigs with Ascaris Suum

Abstract
|
|
|
The experimental infection of guinea pigs with embryonated ova of Ascaris scum was undertaken to investigate cultivation period for their development and the M. L. 13. (minimum lethal dose)
The results are summarized as follows;
1. The infectivity of Ascaris suum ova was demonstrated after incubation for 26days at 28℃.
2. All the guinea pigs inoculated with over 10,000 infective Ascaris swum ova died on the 7 - 9 th days after the oral inoculation, regardless of the culture medium. From the result, it was considered that the M. L. D, was over 10,000 infective Ascaris suum ova in the guinea pigs.
